Sassaia produces artisanal wines that please the new world palate while respecting old world style. Our foundations are based on the collaboration between Enrico de Alessandrini, descendant of a Nobel family from Trento with roots in Capriata d’Orba, and fifth generation wine maker Pierre Naigeon of Gevrey-Chambertin; 50+ acres (21 Hectares) of vineyards; hand harvested grapes; natural vinification; old traditions and modern techniques. Sassaia is born in the heart of Piedmont (Italy) where rolling vineyards and wine bond generations in an expression of life built on ancient traditions. The culture of wine production spawns from gracious land and old vines refined by toil, creativity and craftsmanship.
