Yet the collaboration agreement forged last Thursday in Capriata d\u2019Orba, manages to overcome the traditional distrust between \u201ccousin\u201ds from beyond the Alps and will bring Timorasso, the wine produced from the ancient native grapes of the Tortona hills and Val Borbera, to be vinified in one of the capitals of world winemaking, Burgundy. Two different worlds that have now shaken hands. Proponents of the initiative Enrico de Alessandrini, owner of the Sassaia Winery that produces excellent products of Gavi, Ovada, Barbera del Monferrato and Nebbiolo, the famous French producer Pierre Naigeon di Gevrey Chambertin (Burgundy) and Valter Massa, the main architect of the rediscovery of Timorasso. From the operational point of view, Sassaia will vinify the Timorasso in Gevrey-Chambertin together with Pierre Naigeon. The Timorasso will be made in various styles to discover the versatility of the varietal. Derthona Timorasso is a wine that is making itself known in the world thanks to great producers of Tortona. In addition, the producers will be invited to Gevrey-Chambertin during the production to share winemaking methods.
